Dock Quay

With over 1,200 meters of deep water quayside, the Port of Nigg caters for some of the largest vessels in operation today. The dry dock can operate as both a dry or tidal wet dock, providing flexibility of use to the client.

The existing South Quay has been entirely re-faced with a new steel piled wall. The seabed level has been lowered to provide a depth of -12 meters below chart datum along the 370 meter length of the South Quay and along the East side of the finger quay. The upgraded quay has potable water and sea water fire-fighting connection points along the length of the quay.

The West Finger Quay extends 130m into the Firth and is 40 meters wide. The Quay walls are designed to allow heavy equipment loadouts to barges or vessels using crawler or mobile cranes or SPMT's.

South Quay

The completion of the South Quay project in early 2015, which involved the re-facing of the entire length of the front quayside, along with the development of a new West Finger Jetty plays a critical role in attracting major projects to the area where clients benefit from unrivalled quayside access - longer than any facility in the area. The existing South Quay has been entirely re-faced with a new steel piled wall and the area dredged to a depth of 12.7m below chart datum. The upgraded quay is served with electricity, potable water, sea water fire-fighting hydrants, marine gas oil and tower lighting with a ground loading spread 4m from quay edge of 50 tonnes/m3.
