To help make the recent ScotWind announcement a great success, we welcome the opportunity to support and work with all the successful developers who have been offered option agreements, reserving the rights to specific areas of seabed surrounding Scotland.
We would also like to extend our hand to the developers who unfortunately missed out on this occasion, but will no doubt go from strength to strength and hopefully receive the opportunity to advance their ideas in ScotWind 2.
Recognised for its world-class, multi-sector capability and offering unique turnkey solutions to customers in the international energy industry, our Port of Nigg facility is ready to take advantage of the opportunities created by ScotWind.
As the largest port facility in the Moray Firth, the Port of Nigg combines some of the largest construction and assembly shops in Europe, and also benefits from an unrivalled dry dock and over 1,135 metres of deep-water quayside.
With storage, laydown, and yard logistics support, backed up by a multi-discipline workforce with a proven track record, the Port of Nigg is fast becoming the main hub in the UK to support the renewables industry.
Iain Sinclair, Executive Director of Renewables and Energy at Global Energy Group, said:
“The Groups strategic positioning is based on investing in our port services capacity at Nigg, ahead of forecast demand but in close dialogue with industry needs. With that, we are delighted to confirm that our East Quay extension development, is due for completion ahead of schedule in Q2 2022. This is just one of a number of our portfolio project plans that will deliver direct benefit to our ScotWind project partners and the wider Scottish Supply chain.”
